OMG!!!!
So I vanished for a few days. Sorry about that. Hubby got hit by a bus friday night on the way home from work. yeah no joke! Apparently the driver felt the need to make a wide right turn from the left lane right in front of oncoming traffic which caused him to slam his breaks (still ended up smashing into the side) and 2 cars behind him like dominos into them. Totalled out the brand new 2010 lexus and bruised him up pretty good but he is ok. Just been a whirlwind trying to sort this mess out with the insurance and getting the car replaced...ect. And can you beleive that the police were actually giving him the ticket cause there is an unspoken rule that city transit workers dont get cited. Yeah well his father is a lawyer with a firm downtown and was present when this was said to him, the tow driver also witnessed them clearly stating that it was the bus drivers fault but he would have to take the fall for it cause that is their rule. So this will be going to court and it seems already a jury trial has been set up. His father had the motions and deposition from the tow driver presented to the judge and from what I hear he was NOT happy with what he was presented with. So this will be a very crazy month for everyone I think. It will sort itself out. I just find it shocking. Maybe I am being naive but wasnt this countrys justice system founded on fairness and trust, guilt and innocence determined by fact and logic? Ill get back on the freebies soon. till then! Cheers

Wow. Glad your husband is okay, though. Years ago, my brother was t-boned by a lunch truck, speeding through an intersection, red light. My brother was ticketed because he didn't have his seat belt on. The doctors all said he would have been dead if he did. They had a trial, too.
ReplyDeleteThat's just stupid about Transit workers not getting ticketed. Is that why they don't care about texting while driving!!! Hope it all gets worked out soon!
I'm so sorry this happened to your husband, Misty! Just glad he wasn't hurt worse. That takes nerve to give someone a ticket who is driving in his own lane, minding his business when he's hit by a bus coming across his lane! If they can't ticket the bus driver (dumb rule BTW), then they shouldn't ticket anyone! Hope it all sorts itself out and the car gets replaced soon. Don't worry about freebies...just do what you need to do for your family. ((((HUGS)))) Linda
ReplyDeleteSo now we are following "UNSPOKEN" laws......pah-lease...glad your hubby wasn't hurt...hope all turns out ok...
ReplyDeleteSorry to hear about your husband's accident but glad he's okay. That law really sucks.
ReplyDeleteI don't think I've commented before, but hope it cheers you a little to know that my teenage daughter just loves your freebies for her digi-scrapping.
Thankyou all for being so patient and for your kind words. Don is an amazing man, he is never ever late coming home from work, and when he needs to go somewhere before he does he calls or texts and if he cant do that he just comes home and lets us know and then goes off where needs to. So when it was already 2 hours late and no call or text or sign of him, I knew something had happened and what could prevent him from even calling is what had me in a panic so I am just glad he is ok. We will get this all sorted out afterall he didnt do anything wrong. Anyways I got a bunch of new goodies for the next few days but gonna start with a new freebie this morning. Little mini kit. Enjoy!
ReplyDeleteI am sorry to hear about all this happening to you. I am glad to hear that your husband is ok and not hurt very badly. I hope that everything works out in the end.
